CAREER HIGHLIGHTS   

2015-Was 4th at the USA Outdoor Championships

2014-Was 10th nationally in the men’s discus at the NCAA Division I  Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  All-SEC performer in the discus for two straight seasons.  Broke LSU’s 25-year-old school record in the men’s discus with his seasonal-best throw of 210-10 in winning the event title at the 120th Penn Relays.  Broke the 18-year-old Penn Relays meet record.  Was honored as the Penn Relays’ College Men’s Athlete of the Meet for Individual Events.  Ended the 2014 collegiate season as the NCAA’s No. 4-ranked performer in the discus.  Was named the SEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Texas Relays.  Finished 9th at the 2014 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  Increased his own school record in the discus during the summer by winning the event title at 212-2 at the USATF Throws Initiative Test Meet prior to the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

2013-Was a breakout sophomore season earning All-America honors in the discus for the first time in his collegiate career.   Finished 4th in his first NCAA final in the discus.  Was LSU’s first All-American in the discus in 15 years.  Was the SEC Champion in the discus at the SEC Outdoor Championships. Won the shot put title in the college division at the 119th Penn Relays while throwing a lifetime PR of 57-10.  Threw a personal best of 206-3 in the discus finishing 2nd at the 86th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, moving into the No. 2 spot on LSU’s all-time outdoor performance list in the event.  Placed 7th at the 2013 USA Outdoor Championships.

2012-Was a welcomed addition to the LSU throws group as one of the elite freshmen in the NCAA during the 2012 season.  Qualified for the NCAA Championships.  Was the No. 13-ranked discus thrower nationally at the start of the NCAA Championships with a personal best of 190-8.  Honored as the SEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week following his season-opening performance at the Louisiana Classics. Followed the collegiate season with a record-setting performance in the discus at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in Bloomington, Indiana.  Set a USA Junior Championships meet record in winning the gold medal in the 6-kg. discus with a mark of 206-9.  Broke the previous USA Junior Championships record of 204-3 set by Mason Finley in 2009.  Finished in 18th place at the World Junior Championships.

PRIOR TO LSU

One of the premier discus prospects in the country for the Class of 2011 and was the nation’s No. 2-ranked discus thrower for his classification during the 2010 outdoor season.  Set an personal best of 198-7 in winning the discus title at the 2010 Willis Wildkat Relays during his junior season at Navasota High School. Was a two-time University Interscholastic League Class 3A state champion in the discus in 2010 and 2011.
